40°C, natural detergent, cold or low-temperature cycle. That's your routine. No fabric softener, no bleach , both degrade the cotton fibres over time and turn a great towel into an average one faster than it needs to. Tumble dry on low, or line dry in shade and finish in the dryer.
How do you keep bath towels soft?
Drop the fabric softener. Counterintuitive, but it coats the fibres and reduces both softness and absorbency over time. Wash on a low temperature, tumble dry on low heat, and your towels stay plush without any chemical help. Simple.
How often should you wash a bath towel?
Every three to four uses is the standard. After each use, hang it fully spread to dry , damp towels bunched on a hook are a breeding ground for bacteria. Look after it between washes and it'll stay fresh far longer.
